Lunuganga is a masterclass in tropical modernism. Buildings are not placed on the landscape so much as woven into it. Lunuganga is Geoffrey Bawa’s most personal work ΓÇö a country estate outside Bentota that the architect spent over four decades shaping into one of Asia’s most celebrated 20th-century gardens.

Easy to Moderate. The estate is spread across several acres of undulating terrain. Most paths are well-maintained, though some grassy slopes and stone steps may be slippery after rain.

We provide door-to-door transport from your accommodation. Within the estate, exploration is conducted on foot to preserve the quietude of the gardens.

Lightweight, breathable clothing is recommended. Comfortable walking sandals or loafers are ideal.
